Senshi Gundam SEED C.E. 73 Stargazer

When i one day was looking over my wishlist at anidb i found that i had crossed Stargazer as watched, still i did not remember watching it. I took out the DVD and put it in the computer and truly enough, i had not watched it. Gundam Stargazer takes place immediately after the “Break the World” event in the start of Gundam Seed Destiny.

If you have watched MS Gundam 0080 you know what this one is going to be like. Stargazer will not focus on the story of Gundam Seed at all, instead we will se the perspective of the war between Naturals and Coordinators from other characters, we get to follow Sven Cal Bayan who is a 19-year old Natural who is a member of the Phantom Pain special forces and pilots the GAT-X105E Strike Noir. It also features Selene McGriff, a 28-year old female Coordinator and a researcher of the “Stargazer Project” for the Deep Space Survey and Development Organization (DSSD).

As the episodes are only 15 minutes each the story is going on a fast but efficient pace with little regard to anything else, it still manages to create a really good story. One of the good things i really like in Stargazer is that there is no “god” Gundam here, even pilots in mobile suits with Gundam models gets killed without question.

The animation for Stargazer is almost the same as Gundam Seed & Destiny, however it lacks a lot of reused cells that add allot more tension to the action scenes, it shows how the pilots of the Gundam really fight to stay alive with no one having so called “immortal powers” that is a common theme of Gundam main characters.

In the end Stargazer is quite short but still worth the watch. Because of the shortness it cant become as deep as you typical Gundam series, however it gets as close as it can being as deep as anything alike, if you like Gundam you should absolutely watch Stargazer.
